Police have roped in ballistics expert Chris Mangena to probe the alleged shooting of North West businessman Brown Mogotsi.
Mangena is one of the police officers who examined the physical and ballistic evidence in the murder case of former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa.
Mogotsi claims he was the target of an attempted assassination in Vosloorus on Gauteng's East Rand on Monday night.
A red Chevrolet sedan, which the controversial businessman was supposedly driving during the shooting, is undergoing ballistic testing at the Vosloorus Police Station.
Although multiple bullets struck the vehicle, and three hit the driver and passenger seats, Mokgotsi escaped unhurt.
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said the ballistic experts will release a report on the alleged shooting once evidence collection is complete.
"The experts will tell us. That’s why we have roped in Colonel Chris Mangena, who will be able to provide a report as to what may have transpired and what the verdict is on this particular incident."
