Cape Town fires: Current road closures to take note of (Tuesday 29 April)

29 April 2025 | 7:11Cape Town Traffic spokesperson Maxine Bezuidenhout has urged the public to avoid non-essential travel in the affected areas.
Fire crews have been battling a wildfire in the mountains between Tokai and Muizenberg since Sunday.
According to Jermaine Carelse, spokesperson for the City of Cape Town's Fire and Rescue Services, the fire is still not contained, and there is growing concern as two fire lines appear to be advancing toward Chapman’s Peak.
As a precaution, several roads remain closed to the public:
- Westlake Drive and Boyes Drive
- Tokai Road and Zwaanswyk Road
- Old Boyes Drive and Boyes Drive
- Boyes Drive and Anderson Road
- Main Road and Old Boyes Drive
- Main Road and Boyes Drive
- Main Road and Clairvaux Road
