From haunted hotels to eerie jails, ghost hunters and enthusiasts have an abundance of locations to check out across South Africa during Halloween.
KwaZulu-Natal is a particularly favoured destination due to its history, says Mark Rose-Christie, founder of the Mystery Ghost Bus Tour.
The company operates nationwide ghost tours, haunted sleepovers, and murder and crime bus tours.
"From the Durban area, the Midlands Meander, all the battlefields, with a lot of history with the Boer Wars, you’ve also got to look at the Johannesburg and Pretoria area," says Rose-Christie.
"People who came on the tours want to be entertained, they have a deep interest in the paranormal, those who like history and architecture and love a good ghost story."
