This is where Lizelle Smit plays a key role – acting as the vital link between our sales and programming teams.

Smit explains that radio stations earn revenue through live reads, standard commercials, events, and competitions.

"Listeners love to win and clients love to give away prizes."

With the shift to digital platforms, when Smit pitches ideas to clients, they gain access to campaigns not just on air, but across CapeTalk's digital platforms, including social media and our website.

This creates a multi-platform campaign that extends beyond traditional broadcasting.

However, it's important to note that purchasing an advertisement on the station does not exempt clients from being mentioned on-air or included in news bulletins, regardless of whether the mention is positive or negative.

"We cannot ever interfere with editorial integrity."
