Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero has joined calls for justice and for the law to take its course following the murder of popular DJ Warrick Stock.
Stock, who was known as DJ Warras, was shot on Wednesday outside Carlton Center in the Johannesburg CBD.
His murder is believed to have been linked to his work of recovering hijacked buildings in the CBD.
A hunt is underway for the three suspects believed to be behind the crime.
Morero has remembered stock for his love of the city.
"He was an activist, businessman, and a fearless citizen who cared passionately about the future of our city and its people. He never hesitated to hold me and the City of Johannesburg accountable, always driven by a deep love for Johannesburg and a desire to see its inner city revitalised and safe for all. His voice, courage, and commitment to positive change will be so surely missed."
