Big changes are expected at MTN South Africa, announcing major leadership changes including a new CEO.

Current CEO of MTN SA, Charles Molapisi is set to be replaced by Ferdi Moolman, the current Group Chief Risk Officer

Molapisi will take up his previous role of Group Chief Technology and Information Officer. 

Sindisiwe Mabaso-Koyana will step into the role of chairperson, when Mike Harper is set to retire in the first quarter of 2026.

The management reshuffle comes at a positive time for the business, with service revenue increasing by 23.2% to R105.1 billion.

The cellular network provider recorded strong first-half performance, with EBITDA up 60.6% to R46.65bn and HEPS rising to 645 cents from a loss of 256 cents a year ago.

Basic earnings per share increased by 231.8% to 539 cents, a massive jump from the loss of 409 cents last year.

Speaking to Stephen Grootes on The Money Show, MTN Group CEO Ralph Mupita says it's a good time for the business.
