Police probing murder case after missing teen girl’s body found in Roodepoort veld

JOHANNESBURG - Police are investigating a case of murder following the grim discovery of a mutilated teenage girl’s body in an open veld in Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg.

Fourteen-year-old  Lukhona Fose was reported missing over the weekend and police said her body was found by a passerby on Sunday afternoon.

"The mutilated body was found lying under the shrubs by a passerby, who notified the police," said police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhulwi.

"Resources have been mobilised to ensure that the culprits responsible for this heinous attack are behind bars and brought to book. Police are calling upon any person to assist with information that can lead to the arrest of the culprits."
