President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that the special task team established to implement the findings of the Madlanga Commission’s interim report has already led to the suspensions of implicated law enforcement officials.
However, Ramaphosa stated that the interim report, which he received in December, cannot yet be released to the public in full.
He explained that doing so would be unfair to witnesses who may still be required to provide evidence before the Commission.

Despite the report remaining confidential, Ramaphosa confirmed that accountability measures are already being taken.
During a question-and-answer session with Members of Parliament in the National Assembly today, he noted that "heads are already starting to roll" within the sector.
"The team will institute investigations against those identified by the Commission for such investigations," the President stated. "Matters that require disciplinary action are currently being attended to by the relevant departments. Some are resulting in suspensions, and some are resulting in immediate disciplinary processes that are underway."
