A week after losing its R27 million sponsorship from the Msunduzi Municipality, the court has dismissed Royal AM’s bid to overturn the PSL’s decision to terminate its membership.

The judgment details that the PSL was misled on several occasions by the club and had enough grounds for expulsion.

The court cited that the club changed its shareholding and directorship in June 2023 without the PSL’s approval, misrepresented its directorship in its membership renewal application in July 2024, and was unable to fulfil its obligations (play fixtures and honour financial commitments).

“It looks like they’ve never been clean, it looks like they’ve been a club where non-compliance has been one of their things… that attitude of ‘I don’t care’.”
– Mandla Tshabalala, Managing Director – Tshabalala Inc

“It's blatant and it's malicious… the judge was very scathing to Royal AM and their conduct.”

– Nqobile Ndlovu, Director – Cash N Sport
