A suspect linked to the murder of a presidential bodyguard in KwaZulu-Natal is set to make his first court appearance on Friday.
The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) members investigating the matter nabbed the suspect in Durban Central on Tuesday.
He will join two co-accused in the dock for the murder of Sergeant Sanele Dlamini, who was killed in Inanda last year while returning from work.
Dlamini was shot and killed while leaving a store in Inanda, north of Durban, in April 2025.
His work firearm was stolen from him just seconds after he was shot and killed.
Dlamini was part of the unit’s static team and had just completed his VIP course and was due to start protecting heads of state.
The suspect will make his first court appearance in the Ntuzuma Magistrates Court in the morning.
