SASSA beneficiaries to receive small increase in grant payments from October

South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) beneficiaries are set to receive a small increase of R10 in their monthly grant payments starting in October.
The South African Social Security Agency announced the small bump in funds on Thursday, citing its adherence to Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana’s budget tabled for 2025/2026.
Agency spokesperson Andile Tshona has broken down the figures recipients can now expect.
"The social grant amounts will be increased by R10 in October as follows: old age grants will increase from R2,310 to R2,320. Old age grants (older than 75 years) will increase from R2,330 to R2,340. War veterans' grant will increase from R2,330 to R2,340. Disability grant will increase from R2,310 to R2,320. Care dependency grant will increase from R2,310 to R2,320."
