The thing about Kfm Mornings is – they're going to have a good laugh.

This morning was no different when Darren had some thoughts... brace yourself.

You might have seen some pictures circulating on social media where people compare images of 50-year-olds from the past and 50-year-olds in 2025 (watch the video above to see it).

Darren wants to know why grannies of the past look a bit older than grannies of now.

According to Darren's experience with his grandmother, in 1985 they were wearing orthopaedic shoes, had curly grey hair, wore floral dresses, had arthritis, and just gave up... but grannies in 2025 are doing Pilates, getting into the club, and are looking great on Instagram.

Same for grandfathers, Darren says when you go to a five-year-old kid's party, you can't tell who the kid's father or grandfather is, because people are ROCKING 50!

So, what's the shift about? The team shares their thoughts...

Sibs believes anything after 40 is starting life, "you're in your hottest era," she says.

Darren thinks it comes down to one word: DIVORCE.

Back in the day, once you were married, it was until the grave... but now, divorce is normalised and people choose happiness over the wrong spouse which they often realise at around 45 years old. So, they get a second chance to live life on their terms and it shows in their post-divorce glow-up, Darren explains.

So, if you're in your 'granny' era, Darren says, "you're not retiring, you're reloading" or as Sherlin says, "die oumas lyk goed...".
