Stranded Alaska Airlines passengers were treated to an unexpected concert when Grammy-nominated jazz icon Dave Koz and his band turned a frustrating flight delay into a high-flying celebration with an impromptu Stevie Wonder jam session.
Captured in a now-viral video, Koz and the Summer Horns energised the cabin with their rendition of 'You Haven’t Done Nothin' during a series of delays and diversions on their way from St. Louis to a tour stop in Seattle.
Shared across Instagram and Facebook, the uplifting performance has racked up over two million views and thousands of comments, with fans praising the group for delivering a 'playover' to remember, as some called it.
What would've been a frustrating layover turned out to be quite an entertaining moment as the talented band jazzed their way through the plane's aisle around passengers who eventually jolled seated.
After four decades in the music industry, Koz reflected on the moment, saying he’s still 'humbled by the power of music to change a mood'.
"If you're stuck on a plane, it would be nice to have a jazz band with you," says Friedman.
