Residents from Westbury and Coronationville in Johannesburg are threatening to take to the streets again over persistent water woes.
This comes after community leaders met officials from Mayor Dada Morero’s office on Thursday, where Joburg Water representatives were a no-show.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss proposed solutions to their water supply issues.
Residents say their water supply remains inconsistent.
This despite promises by Joburg Water to restore supply by the end of this week.
After a meeting with officials, community leaders said that if water was not restored, they would take to the streets again.
In a written statement, Joburg Water told EWN that their interventions of building a new pipeline to boost water supply were on track, adding that commission testing would begin soon.
