CAPE TOWN - The United Democratic Movement (UDM) has raised concern over the rising number of mass shootings in the Western Cape after seven people were killed in Hout Bay this past week.
Five people died on the scene and five were wounded in the attack by unknown men who opened fire on the victims at Imizamo Yethu.
Two of the wounded later succumbed to their injuries.
The UDM says more needs to be done to bring the perpetrators of such crimes to book.
Meanwhile, police spokesperson Ande Traut says officials are working to find the suspects.
"Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit detectives are hard at work pursuing leads in a bid to apprehend the suspects who are responsible for the death of five adult males and the attempt to kill five others in Hout Bay… the motive for the multiple murder and attempted murders is yet to be determined."
