CAPE TOWN - A 15-year-old Bonteheuwel boy arrested in connection with the rape of children in foster care is set to return to the Bishop Lavis Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The teenager was arrested in March.
Bonteheuwel ward councillor, Angus McKenzie, said he alerted police after he was told of the alleged sexual assault of minors at a house in the area.
He said the victims were all under the age of 12 and it's believed the abuse had been going on for two years.
McKenzie said he'd keep a close eye on what happened in court on Tuesday.
"We sincerely hope that the court will agree with us that it is in the best interests of the victims, as well as the perpetrator, that he remains behind bars for not only the safety of our children but more so his own safety for the high levels of frustration he has brought upon the people of Bonteheuwel, for his sick and heinous crimes that he has been accused of."
