2 witnesses in Mitchells Plain shooting murdered in Muizenberg

Two young men aged 15 and 18, and a 25-year-old woman were shot and killed in a suspected gang violence related shooting in Hillview on Saturday morning.
Another two people were killed in separate drive by incidents.

So far, no arrests have been made.
Allen says that gang violence flared up in March in Muizenberg and they have been engaging with SAPS since then to try and curb the violence.
“We have seen a flare up between two particular gangs in that particular area.”

He adds that there is an ongoing drug turf war and two of those killed on the weekend were witnesses to a different shooting in Mitchells Plain.
According to Allen, Muizenberg needs more resources and what they have must be optimally utilised.
He says they are 20 years behind in terms of the SAPS officers they need.
