JOHANNESBURG - The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) is set to announce the 2024 general election results on Sunday at 6pm.

This year's elections have also been marred by chaos, with some political parties calling for a recount.

Over 97% of votes have been counted so far, with the African National Congress (ANC) leading the pack with over 6 million votes.
It's followed by the Democratic Alliance (DA) with over 3 million votes and the uMkhonto we Sizwe party (MK), which is sitting on more than 2 million votes.
