CAPE TOWN - With the National Assembly's first sitting out of the way, Saturday will be the turn of the upper house.
But as was the case with the election of the National Assembly's presiding officers on Friday.
It is expected compromises will also be made in the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) to accommodate the newly-inked co-governance statement of intent.
54 permanent delegates to the NCOP will be sworn-in by the Chief Justice.

Justice Raymond Zondo will also chair the election of the chairperson of the council.
Outgoing Mpumalanga Premier Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane has been touted for the position.
Meanwhile, the deputy chairperson could be offered to either the Democratic Alliance or the Inkatha Freedom Party as part of a new co-governing pact.
The Chief Whip of the house will be the third of the elected positions which has always been held by an ANC Member of Parliament.
