JOHANNESBURG - Some young people say they’re not anticipating President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Cabinet announcement.
They’ve detailed harrowing accounts of how the government failed to improve their families’ lives in the last 30 years.
Eyewitness News spent time engaging with the youth on their expectations of the seventh administration.
While many South Africans are curious about the composition of the president’s Cabinet, some young people say they’re simply not interested.
"They only think about themselves in terms of money. They don’t consider us as their priority," one youth said.
"These politicians don't care about us. They are very corrupt. Students are suffering because of corruption at NSFAS. So all politicians do is lie," another youth said.
"I don't care. The situation is going to remain the same. It might get worse but it's never getting better and it's just for us to accept that," a third youth said,
They’ve listed youth unemployment, corruption and challenges in receiving student funding as their reasons for losing faith in politics.
EWN has some time engaging the youth on the imminent cabinet announcement.
