JOHANNESBURG - Mpumalanga police have linked the man accused of murdering six-year-old Junior Mabandla to the disappearance of a three-year-old girl.
Mabandla went missing in Pienaar last month.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly pointed out where he buried Mabandla’s remains after he was assaulted by community members.
Police believe he is also behind the murder of the three-year-old, whose remains will be exhumed on Thursday.
Police spokesperson Donald Mdhluli said that the man was receiving medical attention while under police guard.
"He was caught by members of the community in Pienaar and they informed police that the man has pointed out that he was involved in the disappearance of a three-year old, though the girl was not reported formally missing to police."
