JOHANNESBURG - The City of Ekhurhuleni has appointed the African National Congress (ANC)'s Jongizizwe Dlabathi as the new Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Finance.
His appointment comes after the sacking of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF)'s Nkululeko Dunga as Ekhurhuleni's Finance MMC.
Dlabathi has served as the metro's chief whip since 2016.

He holds a National Diploma and BTech Degree in Internal Auditing from the Tshwane University of Technology, as well as a postgraduate diploma in Project Management.
Dlabathi has previously worked at the office of the Auditor-General of South Africa.
Executive Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza said that Dlabathi's appointment would significantly strengthen institutional capacity and support efforts to enhance financial stability in the city.
