2 suspects linked to fatal Eldorado Park shooting to appear in court

Two suspects are set to appear before the Lenasia Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning, after they were linked to a shooting in Eldorado Park that claimed two lives and left six others injured.

The pair was arrested on Monday after one handed himself over to police, while the other was nabbed at his home in the area.

On Saturday evening, it is understood unknown gunmen stormed a social gathering and fired a hail of bullets randomly.

Two victims were declared dead at the scene, while six others were rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds.

Police spokesperson Brenda Muridili explained: “SAPS [South African Police Service] Crime Intelligence, together with Eldorado Park Police as well as Anti-Gang Unit visible policing and detectives immediately started tracing the perpetrators following the shooting incident. The suspects will be appearing before the Lenasia Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.”
