JOHANNESBURG - The two men arrested in Eswatini for the murders of Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane will have 15 days to appeal a decision to extradite them to face trial in South Africa.
Brothers Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande were arrested in February, a year after the shooting outside a well-known establishment on Florida Road in Durban.
The pair later fled the country and were arrested in Eswatini.
In a judgement handed down on Friday, the Manzini Magistrates Court granted South Africa’s extradition request.
They’re expected to join five others already on trial for murder, attempted murder, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, and money laundering.
KwaZulu-Natal National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Natasha Kara said, “Should they not appeal within the 15-court day period, then the record of the proceedings will be transmitted to the prime minister of Eswatini.
“Upon the prime minister’s decision to surrender the respondents, Interpol [International Criminal Police Organisation] officials from Eswatini and South Africa will decide on a date of handover.”
