JOHANNESBURG - Nine gas cylinders exploded in Eikenhof, south of Johannesburg on Friday morning.
Emergency services said that the cause was not yet known and no fatalities were recorded.
"The incident took place just behind Lido Hotel in Eikenhof, Johannesburg this morning. EMS further cautions gas suppliers and distributors to ensure safe storage and distribution of flammable liquids. Suppliers and distributors must adhere to city by-laws. Contravention of by-laws may lead to penalties or criminal charges," said EMS spokesperson Xoli Khumalo.
