EC police following a lead in deadly Lusikisiki mass shooting

LUSIKISIKI - Police in the Eastern Cape said that they were following a lead on the mass shooting that claimed the lives of 18 people in Lusikisiki on the weekend.
On Saturday, unknown gunmen shot and killed 17 people in two separate houses in the Ngobozana area.
The 18th victim succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
Police top brass in the province said that they were onto something but it was still early stages.
It's been over a day since the gruesome attack which claimed the lives of 16 women and two men in Lusikisiki.
But the community is still shocked by the killings, as some are now living in fear.
Police provincial commissioner, Nomthetheleli Mene, visited the family home on Sunday.
"As police, we are working on this, we are still investigating and there is some information that we are following but allow me not to detail this because this is still a fresh."
She said that the killing was premeditated.
Police have asked for more time to thoroughly probe this case.
