Gauteng Roads ‘is doing something’ about disastrous Fourways traffic lights

When traffic lights aren't working, navigating the roads can become treacherous.
The roads around Fourways have become particularly notorious for having dysfunctional traffic lights.

This problem is made worse when there is a lack of clarity on who is responsible for fixing them.
In September, the Gauteng Department of Roads and Eskom agreed to meet to try and resolve the problem of the traffic lights on Winnie Mandela Drive, main and Witkoppen.
Mpya says they found a particular substation was not functioning which was causing a lot of these problems.
He adds they have identified the worst affected areas and have ‘technical work streams’ prioritising repairing them.
