Manhunt launched after man murdered in Masiphumelele

CAPE TOWN - Detectives attached to the provincial taxi violence unit are searching for suspects responsible for the murder of a man in Masiphumelele.

The shooting happened at around 6pm on Wednesday.

The police's Joseph Swartbooi: "Unknown gunmen opened fire at the driver of a minibus in Pokela Road, Masiphumelele. The 34-year-old man did not survive the onslaught on his life and was declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel. The unknown suspects fled the scene and they are yet to be arrested. The motive for this attack is believed to be taxi-related."
