The City of Cape Town has announced the much-anticipated line-up of artists for the annual Mother City event.

Get ready to groove, Cape Town!

The artist line-up for the Festive Lights Switch-On has been revealed as a proudly South African selection of some of the country's most popular performers.

Set against the iconic backdrop of Table Mountain, the annual Adderly Street event will see Dr Victor and the Rasta Rebels performing some of their biggest hits for the crowds on 1 December.

Alongside the 'I Love To Truck' outfit, afro-pop powerhouse Mafikzolo will bring their signature sound, blending their much-loved elements of jazz, kwela and pop to get everyone up on their feet.

There will also be rump-shaking performances by the ever-popular trio Three Tons of Fun and local soul singer Candice Thornton.

"This year's line-up will certainly get me into the holiday spirit as it speaks to the joy, unity, and vibrancy that make Cape Town the heart of the holiday season in South Africa."
- Geordin Hill-Lewis, Mayor - City of Cape Town

The Festive Lights Switch-On in Adderley Street is a free event and this year's festivities will be led by Alan Committie and Lunga Tshuka, two of South Africa's most beloved comedic talents.

The fun starts at 4 pm on the Grand Parade.

Now in its 55th year, the theme for this year's iconic event is 'Cape Town: People of Hope'.
