The matter was however postponed to next week, with no reasons provided by the state for its decision.
Stock’s sister, Nicole Stock-Mabuza, said she remained in the lurch regarding the reasons for the postponement of Majola's bail application.
Limping into the courtroom at the Johannesburg magistrates court on Tuesday morning, Majola’s bail application did not proceed as planned, with the state and his defence attorney both agreeing to a postponement to next week.
Majola faces charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder in relation to the assassination of Stock on 16 December in the Johannesburg CBD last year.
Speaking to journalists following Majola’s brief appearance, Stock-Mabuza questioned the postponement.
She said they had to see what the outcome was going to be, adding that while she did not expect it to be so quick, she understood it was part of the process.
Majola will remain in custody until next Tuesday when he is expected to make a bid for bail.
