Eastern Cape Hawks spokesperson, Ndiphiwe Mhlakuvana said after a few months, the hotel owner noticed that money from sales was not being deposited into his business account.
Mhlakuvana said the victim then opened a case of fraud with the authorities.
"The investigations ensued and revealed that the bank account where the sales money was going into, belonged to the arrested suspect residing in East London. The transactions worth R1.2 million took place between July and September 2023," said Mhlakuvana.
