JOHANNESBURG – Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) supporters are expected to march through the streets of Johannesburg on Tuesday as the Constitutional Court is expected to hear the party's case on the Phala Phala scandal.

The march will start at 8am from Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown and proceed to the apex court in Braamfontein.

As such, motorists are urged to use alternative routes in the Johannesburg inner city.

The EFF and African Transformation Movement (ATM) will argue that Parliament's rejection of a report on the Phala Phala saga involving President Cyril Ramaphosa was irrational and unlawful.

EFF leader Julius Malema says they want Ramaphosa to be held accountable for the circumstances surrounding the theft of foreign currency at his Limpopo farm in 2020.

“We are marching there why, we are highlighting the corruption of President Cyril Ramaphosa and the corruption of the ANC. And we will never stop highlighting how corrupt ANC is and President Ramaphosa, and that doesn’t clean president [Jacob] Zuma.”

The party will also ask the court to declare parliamentary rules on independent panel reports as invalid and unconstitutional.

The president will be defending the application - arguing the contents of the report is substantially flawed and it lacks evidence to support claims of serious misconduct.
