PICS: Miss South Africa Mia le Roux showcases Ndebele-inspired national costume at Cape Town Fashion Week

Miss South Africa Mia le Roux unveiled her national costume at this year’s Cape Town Fashion Week.

The ensemble features original artwork by iconic Ndebele artist Dr Ester Mahlangu. 

The white clouds were made from feathers sourced from Cape Karoo International in her hometown of Oudtshoorn. 

The costume was initially supposed to be her entry for the Miss Universe pageant’s costume competition.

Unfortunately, Le Roux had to withdraw from the pageant just days before it was set to begin due to health concerns.
