N3 toll route briefly closed after multi-vehicle crash

JOHANNESBURG - Emergency services are on the scene of two incidents on Van Reenen’s Pass on the N3 on Thursday morning.
 
This follows a multi-vehicle crash on the busy route which has resulted in all lanes being closed.
 
Authorities are also working to clear a truck that jack-knifed along the same route headed to Gauteng.
 
The N3 Toll Concession has urged travellers to avoid the route if possible.
 
The incident comes as Transport Minister Barbara Creecy is expected to release the mid-festive season preliminary road safety report on Thursday morning.
