Beitbridge border: BMA eagle-eyed as holidaymakers travel between SA and Zim

JOHANNESBURG - High traffic volumes are anticipated at all ports of entry as holidaymakers return to their homes as the festive season concludes.
The Border Management Authority (BMA) says it is prepared to ensure travel to and from South Africa remains safe and lawful.
BMA commissioner Michael Masiapto is visiting the Beitbridge border in Limpopo on 2 January to oversee operations at the country's busiest crossing.

The BMA’s spokesperson, Mmemme Mogotsi, says the border is expected to see an increase in travel starting on the second day of 2025.
“Beitbridge is a designated commercial port of entry facilitating the movement of god and people, linking to South Africa and Zimbabwe and serving as a gateway to Africa. Beitbridge is also South Africa’s land port, which is seeing increasing numbers of movement are more are expected for this return leg.”
