CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape E-hailing Association is calling on drivers to be extra cautious when accepting rides.
The statement came after the recent attack on two e-hailing drivers in Cape Town.
On Wednesday, a driver was attacked by a client in Strandfontein and another was robbed also by clients on Christmas Eve in Rylands.
Spokesperson for the association Keith Francis is urging e-hailing drivers to be extra vigilant.
“We really condemn these attacks on e-hailing drivers, especially the ones that happened in Bishop lavis, Stranfontien, and in Rylands.”
He added that the attacks on e-hailing drivers seem to have increased in the last two months.
