uMhlathuze Municipality hopes EFF supporters will face full might of law after disruptive protest

DURBAN - The uMhlathuze Local Municipality in northern KwaZulu-Natal says it hopes Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) supporters who disrupted the municipal offices will face the full might of the law.

They say the councillors were recalled in 2023 after failing to secure buses to transport EFF members to the FNB Stadium for the party’s 10th anniversary.
The group broke the glass door of the municipal office as well as a window during the protest.
This is what Mayor Xolani Ngwezi had to say about the chaos: "The police and the law must take its course, thank you."
