Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya said the decision to dismiss MMC for Corporate and Shared Services Kholofelo Morodi was taken to protect the city’s integrity.
Morodi was fired on Friday after being implicated at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry for allegedly trying to manipulate municipal tenders.

She was served with a suspension letter last week and officially given the boot after submitting representations explaining why she should keep her job.
Moya said Morodi’s dismissal should not be seen as a presumption of guilt, but rather as a necessary step to safeguard the reputation of the metro.
Mayoral spokesperson Samkelo Mgobozi said, “The Mayoral Committee must, at all times, command public confidence and demonstrate the highest standards of ethical leadership and accountability. Where uncertainty arises that may affect the integrity or effectiveness of the executive, it is necessary to act decisively in the interests of the institution.”
