2025 AFCON draw: Bafana Bafana to face Egypt, Zimbabwe and Angola

South Africa will have to dig deep for a chance at the 2025 CAF African Cup of Nations trophy this year. 

This after the tournament’s highly anticipated draw delivered some exciting groupings in Morocco on Monday (27 January).

Hosts Morocco are in Group A and will open the 24-team competition against Comoros.

Bafana Bafana, who secured a bronze medal in the 2023 edition, will face Egypt, Zimbabwe and Angola in Group B.

• Group A: Morocco, Mali, Zambia, Comoros
• Group B: Egypt, South Africa, Angola, Zimbabwe
• Group C: Nigeria, Tunisia, Uganda, Tanzania
• Group D: Senegal, Democratic Republic of Congo, Benin, Botswana
• Group E: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Sudan
• Group F: Ivory Coast (holders), Cameroon, Gabon, Mozambique

The 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations kicks off on 21 December 2025 and concludes on 18 January 2026.
