CAPE TOWN - A man caught with drugs worth an estimated R9 million is expected to appear in the Komani Magistrates Court on Monday in Eastern Cape.

He was arrested over the weekend after police received a tip-off about a suspect transporting drugs from Gauteng to East London.

Eastern Cape police spokesperson Namhla Mdleleni said more than one hundred bags containing 1,000 tablets each were found in the suspect’s car.

"In a crime intelligence-driven operation with members attached to the K9 Unit and Red Guard Security, they followed information of a vehicle, an Isuzu truck, that was allegedly driving from Gauteng Province transporting drugs to East London. The team spotted the vehicle at Cathcart Road in Komani and managed to stop it."
