JOHANNESBURG - The City of Tshwane said that the water supply would be restored once technicians had finished fixing the infrastructure at the Rietvlei Water Treatment Plant.
The plant is under repairs after it was struck during a lightning storm recently, causing it to break down.
As a result, the Garsfontein and Klapperkop reservoirs were affected.
City spokesperson, Lindela Mashigo, has urged residents to be patient.
"They are currently affecting repairs and replacements to the affected components. The impact on the city’s daily water supply to the Garsfontein and Klapperkop reservoirs will be minimal, as the plant only provides just over 9% and 10% respectively to the two reservoirs."
