Hawks arrest 27-year-old in connection with illegal Paarl steroid manufacturing lab

CAPE TOWN - Hawks investigators have made another arrest, a 27-year-old, in connection with an illegal steroid manufacturing lab in Paarl.

A 27-year-old woman was also arrested on Wednesday when a Hawks team together with officials from the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) - raided premises on Old Paarl Road.

There they found powder, tablets, as well as machines and an oven used to illegally manufacture steroids.

Hawks spokesperson Siyabulela Vukubi said the value of the steroids is not known at this stage.

"Both suspects aged 27 will appear at the Paarl Magistrates Court on 14 February 2025. The Provincial Head, Major-General [Mathipa] Makgato applauded the team for the job well done."
