Johannesburg Water blames outages on high consumption

JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg Water says 15 of its reservoirs and towers are under strain due to the high water consumption in the metro.

Johannesburg Water's Managing Director, Ntshavheni Mukwevho said power failures at the Eikenhof and Vaal dams led to problems with filling up reservoirs.

He adds with power having been restored, water levels are slowly rising.
"But I can confirm that the work that was happening from the power failure was completed last night, and they've started pumping, and we can see the volume coming through."
