Stef Bos to celebrate 35-year musical journey at Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts

On Sunday, 23 February 2025, the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts will feature a unique and personal performance by renowned Belgian-Dutch singer-songwriter Stef Bos.

With a career that has spanned over three decades, Bos shares a deep connection to South Africa, and this performance will celebrate his enduring love for the country, its people, and its vibrant cultural landscape.

Bos’ musical journey began in the early '90s with a collaboration with the late Johannes Kerkorrel and has since blossomed through collaborations with legends like Hugh Masekela, Thandi Klaasen, David Kramer, and many others.

With over 20 albums to his name, Bos’ music is rich with the influences of South Africa, as heard in albums like Van Mpumalanga To Die Kaap and Kloofstraat.

His work tells a story of personal and artistic growth, drawing deeply from his experiences in South Africa.

For this special event, Bos will be joined by a South African band and a string orchestra led by Jaconel Mouton.

Together, they will bring to life a collection of songs from throughout his career, weaving together a tapestry of music that reflects his journey with South Africa – where he met his wife and raised their children.

This performance promises to be an afternoon of heartfelt storytelling and emotional connection.
