DURBAN - The Adams Mission community in eThekwini is rallying behind children who lost parents during recent heavy rains in KwaZulu-Natal.
Two married victims from the Mhlongo family died in their sleep after their home caved in on Wednesday evening.
They leave behind three children who narrowly escaped death during the ordeal.

“Us as community leaders and dwellers have to do something in trying to support these children,” said ward councillor Thembelihle Makhanya.
Makhanya said government would also assist with burying the victims.
“Government will have to intervene in terms of assisting the family in terms to lay to rest these people who passed away.”
The mudslides caused by severe rains this week have left parts of KwaZulu-Natal damaged.
The death toll sits at six people. However, authorities said search and rescue operations are continuing, and the number may change.
