JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko said that the addition of the 16 mobile clinics to the province would reduce cases of non-communicable diseases in communities.
On Friday, the department handed over the clinics to five districts in the province.
It will station the facilities strategically to maximise use for different communities.
Nkomo-Ralehoko emphasised the importance of access to health care.
"No one must be left behind. These clinics, if you can get inside there, you can see there are all the equipment that you find in a mini clinic, including the ablution block, so that when they are there, they are able to operate."
