Motsoaledi concerned about projected 2025 medical health inflation

JOHANNESBURG - Health Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi is complaining about the projected 2025 medical health inflation, citing its almost double the projected consumer price inflation rate of 4,5 percent. 

Motsoaledi announced during a Health Market Inquiry media briefing on Monday, that these exorbitant prices affect South Africans in all aspects of life. 

He said medical premiums play a big role in salary negotiations between government and state employees. 

The minister said the high medical aid prices have an impact on the country's economy. 

"That is why we are saying whatever prices that are there in the private health sector they affect the whole spectrum of the economy in our country ."
