Motsoaledi concerned about men lagging behind in taking HIV/Aids treatment

JOHANNESBURG - Health minister Aaron Motsoaledi has revealed that out of 1.1 million people who do not take their HIV/Aids treatment, the majority are men.

He said 65 percent of people tested for the virus are women.

As the various speakers addressed the audience at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital hall, they all had one plea.
For men to be more involved in the fight against HIV/Aids.
The minister said that men are lagging behind in seeking healthcare.
"Know that the transmission goes mostly through men, so we are looking for them and unfortunately men are the people who are never found in clinics their healthcare-seeking behaviours are very low."
Motsoaledi has urged men to join efforts to eliminate the public threat caused by the virus.
