JOHANNESBURG - The Johannesburg Emergency Services has urged motorists in the city to exercise caution while driving as wet conditions persist.
The South African Weather Service has issued an alert of isolated showers and thundershowers expected in most parts of Gauteng on Sunday.
Joburg EMS is warning residents in low-lying areas to be vigilant as flash floods may occur in their communities.
City’s Emergency Services Spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi says people should avoid crossing streams.
"Motorists are urged to exercise caution while driving, and avoid crossing flooded roads and low-lying bridges. Our residents in our low-lying areas are urged to avoid crossing river streams while conducting daily activities."
