JOHANNESBURG - Police have been given 72 hours to arrest those behind the killing of five community safety patrollers in Soshanguve - Pretoria.

Last week, as patrollers did their rounds of the community - they noticed a group of men on the street. 

When they approached them a fight ensued - which led to their deaths.  

Angry community members of the Marry Me informal settlement gathered around the scene of the attack - demanding justice for the slain patrollers.

Lesufi visited the families of the murdered patrollers.

He said police had a list of suspects provided by the community and promised that it wouldn’t be long before they were arrested

“There are people that have given us valuable information that the police are saying they can crack this case.”

The fifth patroller succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.

Lesufi also visited the injured patrollers who are recovering in hospital.
